Meteorologists tell us that this year, spring in southern Ontario looks chilly until just after early April. That’s when balmy temperatures float in from the west, bringing us those warmer days at last. Spring officially announced itself today, March 20, at 5:58 p.m. And this year, the spring equinox is marked by a full moon. Spring celebrations around the world include Nowruz, the Persian New Year marked by bonfires, Vernal Equinox Day in Japan and Holi, the Hindu festival known for its crowd-pleasing use of brightly coloured powders. Happy spring everyone!
